CHANDLER AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY MINUTES

The Chandler American Legion Auxiliary met on Sept. 17, at 1:30 p.m. with President Patsy Buys presiding. Geri gave the opening devotions. The Auxiliary sang the National Anthem, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, held a moment of silence in memory of our deceased members and repeated the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Both the Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

The Auxiliary received a certificate from the 2nd District for submitting our yearly reports on time. A certificate was also received for Children and Youth with Public Relations. Members were thanked for doing a good job keeping track of their volunteer hours for Impact reports.

The Dept. President’s project was discussed. Four Veteran’s hospitals were asking for wheelchairs and exercise equipment. There are also women’s clinics that are asking for different items, such as shampoo and lotions. The Auxiliary voted to donate $200.00 to the women’s clinics and $200.00 towards wheelchairs at the Veteran’s hospitals.

The 2nd District Presidents project was discussed. They want to replace 4 benches at the Luverne Veteran’s Home. These benches will be granite and will last a very long time. The Auxiliary voted to give $200.00 to this project. For further business, the Auxiliary also voted to give $200.00 to the $5.00 Bill Shower and $200.00 to the Gift Shop.

Patsy continued the meeting by reporting that 4 pieces of health equipment were being loaned out.
