The Chandler American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday, September 16 at the Community Center with President Patsy Buys presiding. Faye Schuur gave the opening devotions. The Auxiliary sang the National Anthem and recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and held a moment of silence in memory of the deceased. The auxiliary also read the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary.
The treasure and secretary reports were read and approved.
A thank you was received from the Murray County 4-H for a donation to send 7 youth and one adult to Washington, D.C.
A thank you was also received from the Ronald McDonald House for a donation given to them.
Another thank you was received from the Luverne Veteran’s Home for sponsoring Bingo and for a donation towards the new benches that are placed there.
It was reported some health equipment was loaned out and a donation of $50.00 was received.
The Department of Minnesota President’s Project is Honoring Our Veterans, with money donated for the Honor Flights that were being planned. The Auxiliary voted to give $200.00 to this project. The 2nd District President’s project is supporting the Eagles Nest at Redwood Falls. The Auxiliary voted to give $50.00 to this project.
With no further business, the meeting closed with prayer and the singing of “America”. Mary Mesner was hostess.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 21 at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Center with Jennet Mollema as hostess.
