CHANDLER AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY MEETING NOTES

The Chandler American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday evening, June 21 with Patsy Buys presiding. Chaplain Audrey gave the opening devotions. The meeting continued in usual form. Mavis gave the Treasurer’s report.

Poppy receipts came to a good amount. Thank you to everyone that contributed to the Auxiliary’s Poppy Fund. This money will be donated to several different programs for our Veterans throughout the coming year.

For new business, Patsy passed out sheets of paper that came from the State of Minnesota. Each member is to fill out the Year End Impact Numbers reporting the volunteer hours each member does throughout the year.

Patsy also reported so many flags on the cemeteries were damaged from the strong wind on Memorial Day. The Auxiliary voted to order new flags for next year.

Plans are being made for hosting County Installation. The date has been set for Thursday, July 28 at 6:00 pm to be held at the Community Center in Chandler. Each unit in the County will be notified.

With no further business, the meeting closed with the Chaplain giving the closing prayer and the Auxiliary sang “America.” The Legion joined the Auxiliary for lunch served by Mary Van Eck.

The next meeting is Tuesday, July 19 at 7:00 pm at the Community Center. Plans will be made for hosting County Installation. Members are urged to attend. There won’t be a hostess.
