CHANDLER AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY MEETING NOTES

The Chandler American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday evening, September 21, with President Patsy Buys presiding. The secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved.

For old business, many members attended County Installation at Avoca. The Chandler Unit will be hosting this event next year.

A “thank-you” was read for the donation given to Samaritan’s Purse.

Patsy reported that she and LeRoy had repaired a walker. It was loaned out and a donation was received for its use.

For new business, the Auxiliary voted to send $75 to the Veteran’s Home in Luverne for Christmas goodies.

The Department President’s Project is to give items to the Eagles Healing Nest. Some of the items will be pajamas for children at the Eagles Nest and also pack-n-play toddler beds. Trish Pagel has chosen her project for the 2nd District. She hopes to raise money for training service dogs. There are many hours spent to train a dog and also very expensive. The Auxiliary will make a donation for these two projects at the October meeting.

With no further business, the meeting closed with the chaplain giving the closing prayer, and the Auxiliary sang “America.”

Lunch was served by Mavis Krusselbrink. The next meeting is October 19 at 7pm at the Chandler Community Center. Audrey Bruxvoort is hostess.
