The Chandler American Legion and Auxiliary members met on Tuesday, May 19 at the Chandler Community Center. President, Patsy Buys opened the meeting in usual form. Chaplain Geri Sankey continued the meeting with an opening prayer. The Secy. and Treas. reports were read and approved.
Pres. Patsy announced that the programs for the Memorial Day program were printed and donated by Linda Stevens. The Auxiliary would like to thank Linda for doing this.
Patsy announced that Doug Ossefoort planned to be the speaker for the program. The Auxiliary would like to thank Patsy and Leroy Buys and Faye Schuur for putting the program together.
Plans were made to have Poppy Day in Chandler. Faye and Patsy would have 2 students help distribute poppies. The Auxiliary would like to thank the Public for the generous contributions in supporting our veterans.
The Auxiliary would also like to thank those that attended the Memorial Day program. It is all very much appreciated.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting closed with the chaplain giving the closing prayer and the auxiliary sang “America.” Patsy and Linda served lunch. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 1:30 pm with Mary Van Eck as hostess.
