BUTTERMAKER BASEBALL SEASON BEGINS WITH WIN

By: Mark Zinnel Buttermaker Reporter The Hadley Buttermakers started their 2026 campaign for a Gopher League title when they hit the road to take on the independent Renner Rangers.

Here is the recap: HADLEY 8 RENNER 0 (7 innings) On a warm Sunday afternoon, the Hadley Buttermakers took the field to start the 2026 season against the Renner Rangers and cruised to an easy 8-0 shutout victory. The Buttermakers pitching of Bryce Ahrendt, Trevin Prins and Skyler Feikema held the Rangers scoreless and only allowed one hit in the 7-inning contest.

Both teams suffered defensive miscues in the season opener; with each team committing three. But only Hadley was able to take advantage of the errors.

Hadley scored 2 runs off the Ranger pitching in innings 1,2 3, and 5. Hadley only had 6 hits in the game, credited to Tucker Sorenson, Austin Irlbeck, Derek Kluis, Jakob Olson, Eric Wieneke and Lincoln Graven. Derek Kluis picked up 3 RBIs to lead the Buttermakers, with Jakob Olson and Austin Irlbeck getting credit for 1 each. Trevin Prins earned the victory, going 3 innings and striking out 6, walking one, and giving up the only Renner base hit. Bryce Ahrendt struck out 2 Rangers’ batters in his 2 innings of work, while Skyler Feikema finished on the mound and recorded 3 strikeouts.
