Youth in grades 3-6 from across southwest Minnesota gathered at Lake Shetek for a three-day, two-night 4-H camp this month.
4-H Staff and trained high school 4-H youth counselors provided leadership for the camp activities. Youth participated in swimming, campfires, cabin time, camp games, and more!
Youth also participated in four one-hour educational tracks, including building their own sandwich and cooking over a campfire, making musical instruments and playing them as a band, designing their own catapult, and creating a personalized camp pet out of clay.
Murray County had 19 campers as well as 5 youth serve in the leadership role of counselors.
This amazing and unique experience is possible due to our fantastic counselor team, who serve as cabin counselors, work with a committee leading specific parts of camp, and complete training to work with our campers. A huge thank you to our amazing hosts, Shetek Lutheran Ministries, for sharing their space with us.
