MCC GIRLS BASKETBALL TAKES FIRST LOSS AGAINST PIPESTONE

The MCC Rebel Girls have opened the season with four straight wins, their best start in 15 years. The Rebels on Monday played another undefeated team - the Pipestone Arrows have also won their first four games. Both teams came into the game without a practice but on Monday it was a battle in which the Arrows would prevail.

REBEL GIRLS CELEBRATE CLOSE WIN OVER WWG

The Murray County Central Rebel Girls Basketball team was on the road for the third time in four games this season on Friday night. The Rebels made the trip to Westbrook to take on their toughest game of the season. The Chargers were 2 and 1 heading into the game, but their only loss was to state ranked MACCRAY. This would be a closely played game throughout, but the Rebels did something they have not done since 2009-2010.

DINEHART LUNCHBOX LECTURE POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15TH AT NOON

Due to expected inclement weather, the Murray County Historical Society is postponing their Thursday lecture that is featuring CK Van Dam on her program “Women Tamed the Frontier” to next Wednesday December 15th at noon at the 4H building. Please note this is a change from the regular pattern of Thursday lecturers.

QUILT OF VALOR PRESENTED TO DALE WEHMEYER

On November 28th, Vietnam War, US Army veteran, Private, Dale Wehmeyer, of Westbrook, was awarded a Quilt of Valor, to honor, appreciate and thank him for his service; and to bring comfort, peace and healing. Kerry Cassens from “Patriotic Piecers, QOV” presented his quilt.

WARRIOR WRESTLERS START OUT SLOWLY

The Fulda/MCC Warrior had a slow start to their season going 0-3 in a quadrangular held in Adrian on December 4th. A short practice window and a long football season may be the reason.

MCC SCHOOL BOARD CERTIFIES LEVY

The Murray County Central School Board on Monday, December 8 certified the levy to be collected in 2026 at $3,402,571. Earlier in the meeting, the board held a public hearing for Truth in Taxation and received the FY25 Audit report.
