Bullying Is Not Just a School Thing, It’s a Community Thing By: Greg Scheitel, LSW, Mental Health Consultant SW/ WC Service Cooperative When we talk about bullying there are so many things that come up. Whether it be name calling, making a comment or gesture while passing, posts on social media, leaving someone out on purpose, spreading rumors, damaging property, punching them in the arm on their way to somewhere, and many more.

The Murray County Central Rebel Girls were on the road Monday night to take on the Lakeview Lakers - the Rebels’ final non-conference game of the season. The Lakers were one of the best teams the Rebels faced this season, with a 13-3 record and just coming off a win over last year’s Section 3A champions, the MACCRAY Wolverines.

January 15: RTR at MCC The MCC Rebel Boys Basketball team was at home for the second time this week. The Rebels were playing host to the RTR Knights, a team that Rebels have not beaten since 2018.

Dear Editor, Precinct Caucuses are Tuesday February 3rd, across the state of Minnesota. What is it, you ask? It is a night when neighbors come together and discuss issues that are important. You can put forward ideas and resolutions for the things that are important to you and our community. There will also be an opportunity to have a straw poll vote for Governor of Minnesota. At Caucus night you will also choose delegates to represent you, or become a delegate yourself. Delegates will help choose the people you want to represent you in the state legislature and congress.

We are still in planning our gardening (and yard work) for this new year. This week we will talk on gardening tools and plants. Now is a good time. Usually your garden tools (rake, hoe, shovel, etc) are in the garage and easy to find and inspect. There will be sales of garden tools soon enough. What will you need new this year?

Do you know that pistols are built to be accurate for two hundred yards plus? However, most people can only hit their target at fifty feet or less. Why? Because they have little practice. Do you Christians know that Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly? John 10:10. Yet, so many live a defeated life. Why? Because they don’t practice standing on the promises of God, and say what God says about whatever situation you may find yourself in. Scripture tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Heb. 11:6. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing, and hearing, and hearing the Word of God. Rom.10:17. No wonder so many of us Christians are so spiritually weak. We are so distracted, and find so little time, if any, to really study the Word of God, build our faith, and stand of His exceedingly great and precious promises. Listen to most Christians, and they do not speak in line with God’s Word. They speak negatively, they speak doubt. and fear, and unbelief. Is it any wonder prayers are not answered. I would encourage you to study Mark 11:22-25, and act on it, as you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless.

The Murray County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved a $300,000 EDA loan to Wonder World Preschool, bringing the childcare center within approximately $325,000 of their fundraising goal of $2.1 million to build a new facility.
