Sophomores Brie Kirchner, Alexis Wiener, and Trinity Reynolds have been working on a drug awareness and prevention project with elementary students. They presented information to the fifth and sixth grade students, presenting pre-and post-surveys on their information, and helping to do the best they can to ensure a drug-free future generation of students.
The girls have worked diligently with the fifth and sixth grade teachers throughout the winter.
Sophomores Bennett Runkle and Jordan Vortherms saw a need among their peers and taught a session on safety in the weight room. They hosted a weight room safety night in January at the Fulda Fitness Center, where they went through different lifts, how to spot correctly, and all sorts of other safety tips to help people maintain a safe environment inside the weight room.
Both of these groups will be presenting their research and efforts at the State Leadership Conference in March.
