FULDA CITY COUNCIL APPRISED OF SMALL CITIES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM GRANT STEPS

Jennifer Kronke, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, was present at the Monday evening Fulda City Council meeting to talk about the Grant Contract Agreement that the city has entered into. The total project investment is for approximately $1.21 million and will support owner-occupied housing rehabilitation, streetscape improvements, and engineering services. The first step was for the council to adopt the Small Cities Development Grant Plans and Documents Resolution, which they approved and Mayor Jim Brown signed. More information will be available in the near future.

Barbara Midgarden Marks, Senior Architectural Designer with Bollig presented a Preliminary Architectural Report that addresses numerous concerns at the Fulda City Hall/Fire Hall. The council will be reviewing the projects for consideration and will be meeting soon with Bollig employees regarding their questions and decisions.

A decision regarding renewing the insurance policy of the Railroad Depot Museum was tabled until more information can be obtained.

Liquor licenses were approved for Graff’s Liquor – off sale; American Legion – on sale/Sunday sale; Town and Country Golf – on sale/Sunday sale; 507 Burger and Pizza – on sale/Sunday sale; and The Duck Pond – on sale/Sunday sale.

Building permits were approved for Adam Lorenzen (shed); Don Olsem (steps); and Jerry and Cindy Steiner (driveway, sidewalk, steps). The building permit for 510 E. Lake was approved contingent upon a meeting with the owner for additional information.

The next regular meeting of the Fulda City Council will be on Monday, April 6, 2026, 5 p.m. at Fulda City Hall.
