Any decisions regarding outof- town water and sewer pricing were tabled during Tuesday’s Slayton City Council meeting to give staff a chance for research. Several residents who live outside of city limits had questions about the new rates after receiving their first water and sewer bill of 2026.

The Academic High Honor and Honor lists (Dean’s lists) for the past fall semester at Minnesota State University, Mankato have been announced by Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs David Hood.

The following area students have been named to the University of Minnesota Morris Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.666 or higher while taking 12 or more credits on the A-F grading system, with no incompletes or nonsatisfactory grades.

On February 9th, six members of the Fulda High School Choir attended the 2026 Concordia University Saint Paul high school honor choir on the university campus. Together with FHS music director Mr. Matthew Saxman, these students recorded video auditions, sent them in, and were selected for their vocal excellence. FHS students selected for the event were (from left to right) Matthew Stapek, Peysen Gutierrez, Emma Nielsen, Nevaeh Echternach, Grace Ouellette, and Ruth Ethridge.

On Wednesday, January 28th, Fulda Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter members attended the Mid-Winter Region Meeting at Danebod Folk School in Tyler, MN, to compete in STAR Events.

Murray County Central High School is honored to have two outstanding representatives as Triple A Award winners: Teague Meyer & Rachael Huso. Teague Meyer is the son of Joe & Heather.

FEBRUARY 13 MLAC AT MCC The MCC Rebel Boys Basketball team was looking for a revenge win on Tuesday night against the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen. The Rebels were looking to improve their possible Sub Section Seeding with a win over Edgerton, who beat them earlier this year in Slayton.
