MINNESOTA IRRI-GATOR PROGRAM HOSTING IN BECKER

The University of Minnesota Extension will be offering the Minnesota Irrigator Program at the Sherburne History Center in Becker, MN April 2, 9 and 16. Over the past few years, efficient agricultural irrigation has become a hot topic in Minnesota.

MORE THAN $600,000 IN GRANT AWARDS NOW AVAILABLE

The Monogram Foods Loves Kids Foundation (the Foundation), the non-profit organization founded by Monogram Foods (Monogram), will award more than $600,000 to charitable organizations that benefit children and their families in each of the communities in which Monogram operates. Local 501(c)3 organizations within 100 miles of a Monogram Foods’ facility are now invited to complete an application by visiting their website: https:// monogramfoods.com/what-wevalue/ community-outreach/ Each location has $60,000 to award in its community. A committee of team members from varying roles within Monogram Foods select recipients and amounts of the grants ranging from $500 to $10,000. In 2024, 126 grants were given out. STRATEGIC FARMING: LET’S TALK CROPS! FOCUSED ON CORN INSECT PEST CHALLENGES

St. Paul, MN. (3/5/2025) — On February 26, Dr. Fei Yang, UMN Corn Extension Entomologist, joined UMN Extension Crops Educator Dr. Anthony Hanson for a discussion on corn insect pests. Dr. Yang provided an update on the current challenges Minnesota faces with these pests and shared insights from his research on corn insect pest management. This was the eighth episode of the 2025 Strategic Farming: Let’s Talk Crops! webinar series, which will continue through March.

Dr. Dean Malvick, Extension Plant Pathologist with UMN Extension, joined moderator Claire LaCanne, UMN Extension Educator Crops, for a discussion on “Corn and Soybean Diseases – Looking back as we look forward”. This was the ninth weekly episode of the 2025 Strategic Farming: Let’s talk crops! webinars. The series runs through the end of March.
