By John Stenen When I was a young minister of the gospel about fifty years ago; I was advised by a wonderful man of God to flee from pursuing the three ‘G’s’. He said to me, “Flee from pursuing the gold, the glory, and Gloria.” The combination of those three have been the down-fall of many gospel ministries. It has destroyed families and torn Churches apart. It is good advice for any man, whether he is in the ministry or not. Scripture tells us that we are to “seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto us.” (Mt. 6:33). Scripture also tells us that if we choose to live in immorality, we will not inherit the Kingdom of God, So, be faithful to your wife and leave Gloria. We also should understand that all the praise and glory is to be given to our Lord Jesus Christ for what He did for us on the Cross. The apostle Paul said, “God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” We must walk with the Lord in humility.
