SLAYTON WOMEN OF TODAY SEEKING NEW MEMBERS TO HELP PRESERVE AUTUMN BOUTIQUE TRADITION

For many years, the Slayton Women of Today have brought two cherished community events to Slayton—the annual Autumn Boutique and the Father- Daughter Prom. Today, the organization is reaching out to the community for help to ensure those traditions continue.

The Slayton Women of Today are actively seeking new members to help organize and carry on the annual Autumn Boutique, one of southwest Minnesota’s favorite holiday shopping events.

Each fall, the Autumn Boutique welcomes hundreds of shoppers from across the region, featuring talented artisans, crafters, specialty vendors, delicious food, and a festive atmosphere. The event has become a tradition that many families look forward to each year.

Like many volunteer organizations, the Slayton Women of Today have seen their membership decline over time. While current members remain dedicated to making this year’s Autumn Boutique another success, additional volunteers are needed to keep the event going in future years.

“We’re passionate about continuing this tradition for our community,” said members of the Slayton Women of Today. “But we need new members who are willing to share ideas, lend a helping hand, and help carry the organization into the future.”

Without additional members, the future of the Autumn Boutique beyond this year is uncertain.

The organization is looking for women who enjoy meeting new people, working together on a fun community event, and making a difference. Whether you can volunteer a few hours a month or become more involved, every helping hand makes a difference.

The Slayton Women of Today also host the annual Father-Daughter Prom, another event that has created special memories for local families over the years. Continued membership will help ensure both of these beloved traditions remain part of the Slayton community.

If you’ve ever considered getting involved in your community, now is the time. The Slayton Women of Today welcome women ages 18 and older who are interested in making new friends while helping preserve two events that mean so much to the area. Our next meeting is Wednesday, August 19th beginning at 7 p.m. at the SRDC conference room.

For more information about becoming a member, contact any current Slayton Women of Today member or visit the organization’s Facebook page.

Join us and help ensure that the Autumn Boutique and Father-Daughter Prom remain community traditions for years to come.
