Community donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar through the end of 2026

Wonder World Preschool and Invenergy has announced a fundraising match effort supporting the preschool’s capital campaign funding their new facility and essential childcare services.

Invenergy has committed an initial $10,000 donation to the Wonder World Preschool Seeds of Wonder capital campaign and will provide a dollar-for-dollar match on community donations up to an additional $20,000, creating the opportunity to generate as much as $50,000 in total support for the counties’ only childcare center.

Donations of any size made between August 15 and December 31, 2026, will qualify for the matching program.

“Wonder World Preschool plays an important role in helping local children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning,” said Kyla Buldhaupt, President of Wonder World’s Board of Directors. “We’re incredibly grateful for Invenergy’s support and this matching challenge. Every contribution made during the campaign will go even further to help us invest in the future of our preschool and the children we serve.”

As of August 2026, Wonder World has raised more than 90% of its $2.1 million goal to support the construction of a new facility and to continue providing high-quality early childhood education for children and families as the only licensed childcare center in Murray County. Donations can be made online at wonderworldpreschool. org/seedsofwonder mailed directly to Wonder World.

Invenergy, a Midwest-based developer, owner, and operator of power infrastructure, has been active in southwest Minnesota for years developing the Purple Skies and Lake Wilson Energy Centers. In addition to support for charitable causes, Invenergy projects invest more than $15.6 million into Minnesota communities each year through tax revenue, land and lease payments, and project-generated wages and benefits.

“I am proud to work for a company that supports families and our energy-producing communities like this one,” said Molly Malone, Development Manager for Invenergy. “I myself went to Wonder World as a child and now send my own children there. It takes a village and I wouldn’t be able to do the work I do without having the option to use center-based care that is available every day of the week. Wonder World provides an important service for local families, and we’re proud to help amplify community support through this matching campaign.”
