Are you having troubles having a conversation with someone with Dementia? The Murray County Dementia Awareness Network has Reminiscence Kits.
Kits available include Tools, Baking, Baby, Sewing, Pets, Farming, Gardening, Hunting and Fishing They are .available to check out at the Slayton Public Library. You can then take it when you visit a loved one and would like to reminisce about something that they have done in the past or that they enjoyed. It is a good way to maybe learn about their past and what they liked to do with whichever kit you choose to check out from the library.
If you are caring for someone, whether it is a loved one, a spouse, a friend or a neighbor we can walk with you through that journey. We hold a virtual Support Group so you don’t have to leave your loved on at home or have a family member stay with them. Support group is held on the second Monday evening of the month via Zoom.
