BE A PART OF MINNESOTA’S GREATEST END-OF-SUMMER TRADITION - THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR IS HIRING!

The Minnesota State Fair is currently hiring for fair-time positions at its Employment Center, as well as hosting a Job Fair on Wednesday, July 22. The State Fair hires approximately 3,000 employees to work in its various departments during the 12-day Great Minnesota Get-Together. State Fair job benefits include free fair admission, valuable work experience, making great friends and lifelong connections, and being a part of Minnesota’s most well-known celebration. There are also opportunities for volunteering.

The 2026 State Fair runs Thursday, Aug. 27 through Labor Day, Sept. 7.

For information about employment at the Minnesota State Fair visit https://www. mnstatefair.org/get-involved/ employment/.

Employment Center: Applicants interested in fair-time employment are invited to visit the Employment Center between now and the fair. The State Fair is hiring employees to work in fair-time departments as ticket sellers, ticket takers, parking and park & ride attendants, barn attendants, custodians and more. Jobs are open to anyone age 16 or older. Job seekers are encouraged to register online prior to coming to the Employment Center to accelerate the process.

Job Fair: Interested applicants can also attend the 8th Annual Job Fair on Wednesday, July 22, 4-7 p.m., at the North End Event Center at the fairgrounds. The applicant line will begin forming at 3 p.m. and anyone in line by 6:45 p.m. will be able to participate. Applicants will meet with a State Fair representative and, if their interests, availability and experience match an open position, they will be interviewed on the spot. Resumes are not needed. Applicants offered a State Fair position will be asked to complete a background check. Like the Employment Center, job seekers are encouraged to register online before coming to the fairgrounds to accelerate the process. For those who cannot or do not register online before coming to the Job Fair or visiting the Employment Center, registration can be completed on-site.

The Minnesota State Fair is an equal opportunity employer. Any applicant who needs assistance with completing the application process should contact the employment department at employment@mnstatefair.org or 651-288-4475.

Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers – individual or in a group – are critical to the Great Minnesota Get-Together. Most shifts are two to three hours, and each volunteer receives a free gate admission ticket to enjoy the fair before and after a shift. Various opportunities are available, including shifts at the following fair exhibits: Alphabet Forest, The Common Table, EquiMania!™, Kemps Little Farm Hands and Math On-A-Stick.
