This was the cover of the Fulda High School 1956 annual. Entitled Red Raider, the hard-bound book is mostly dedicated to senior class activities, with underclass photos to seventh grade.

Members of the Fulda Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) recently represented Fulda High School at the 2026 FCCLA National Leadership Conference, held July 6–10 in Washington, D.C.

The Murray County 4-H Seeing Wellness in Motion (SWIM) Team just concluded their season at a co-hosted meet with Nobles County SWIM in Slayton at Slaytona Beach West. The 4-H SWIM program is a regional program taking place over the entire Southwest region of Minnesota.

Plant Power Day Murray County 4-H started their summer programming this Monday featuring special guest, Lindsey Hause, the University of Minnesota Extension Youth Development Plant Science Intern. Hause shared the various ways popular plants in Minnesota grow, and different ways of utilizing them, including interactive activities for the youth to experience.

The Slayton 11U Baseball Team showcased grit, talent, and consistency throughout their 2026 travel season, culminating in a third‑place finish at the Minnesota Baseball Tournaments (MBT) 11A State Tournament. After going undefeated for the weekend earning them the championship at the Prior Lake Tournament earlier in June, securing their place among 40 qualifying teams statewide. Slayton entered the State Tournament as the No. 14 seed.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture estimates that over 10 percent of private wells in some townships in southwestern Minnesota have nitrate levels above the recommended limit. Could your well be one of them?

Join us at the Murray County Water Resource booth for a fun kid’s Coloring Contest. All ages are welcome and prizes will be given to all who participate. Three bonus prizes for each category will be determined by drawing. Coloring pages are available in the Murray County Fair Book or can be downloaded at http://murraycountymn. gov. Please submit completed coloring pages to the Environmental Services Office the week prior to the fair or at the Water Resource Booth, by the fish tanks, when staff are present.

The Murray County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to report that the missing 82-year-old, Dennis Moerke, has been located safely. The individual was found near 675th Avenue and 161st Street, near Lake Wilson, Minnesota, and is safe.

As summer begins to wind down, Nobles Cooperative Electric is reminding local nonprofit organizations that Fall Operation Round Up grant applications are due by September 1. Operation Round Up is funded entirely through the generosity of Nobles Cooperative Electric members who voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the next whole dollar.
