Question: I followed a tractor that had triple wheels on each side and took up half the lane of oncoming traffic. Following vehicles could not pass and oncoming traffic had to take the shoulder.

The City of Slayton is interested in pursuing funding to ASSIST homeowners, rental property owners and commercial property owners (along Broadway Avenue) with health and safety, energy efficiency, accessibility, and lead based paint repairs. Property owners should have received information on the program and an interest statement in the mail this past week. Property owners that are interested in the program should return their interest statement by September 15th if possible. Development Services will be assisting the City in the grant application process. Hospice of Murray County held their Burger Drive Thru event on September 7th. They served over 320 burgers and thank the Murray County Cattlemen’s Association (pictured Jeff Engelkes, John Engelkes, Jason Larson and Bob Ford) for grilling the burgers as well as the staff for making it a fun and smooth event.
