By Jenny Kirk Avoca native Dale Vosberg has mixed feelings about recently being awarded an Atomic Veteran medal and an Atomic Veterans Service Certificate — recognition he believes is coming 68 years late.

Pipestone County’s next hybrid EMT certification class begins Tuesday, Sept. 5. The class includes a live lecture portion on Monday evenings from 6 – 10 p.m. at 811 5th St. SE in Pipestone. The class will also meet one Saturday per month at the same location for skills sessions during the 20-week program.

The Slayton Community Band will be performing a concert of OUR FAVORITES at Gullord Park on Thursday, July 13 at 7:00 P.M. Sara Larson and Charles Shingledecker will be wed on the dock of the Gunflint Lodge, just off the Gunflint Trail north of Grand Marais, MN on August 5, 2023. Sara recently graduated from seminary and Chuck is the Pastor at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks, MN. The couple loves living at their farm south of Balaton, MN.
