WINDOM AREA HEALTH TO HOST SUMMER BLOOD DRIVE

Windom, MN – Windom Area Health and Community Blood Bank will hold a summer blood drive Monday, July 10th between 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Windom Area Health. The public will have an opportunity to donate blood to help local patients in need and assist in preventing a summer blood shortage. Donors can schedule an appointment by logging onto www.cbblifeblood. org, selecting “events”, July 10, and Windom Area Health or call 605331-3222. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. All who donate receives a $10 D.Q. gift card as a thank you.

By Kathy Schwartz, Murray County Master Gardener Leave clippings on the lawn. Over the course of the season, the clippings will provide the equivalent of about one fertilizer application annually. Only bag the clippings if they clump on the surface of the lawn.

By Arnold Krusemark When we reviewed our column, we noted one July 4th ceremony omitted. This was to check the corn to see if it is now knee high. As we look out the window at a nearby corn field it is nearly shoulder high.

Reinventing, Redesigning and Reengineering Yourself

“Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” - John 3:3 NIV The biblical phrase “to be born again” is another way of saying “to transform yourself,” or perhaps more accurately, “to be transformed,” because often these transformations come from outside of ourselves rather than being something we consciously do ourselves. In any case, we are called as Christians to be constantly transforming ourselves.

SLAYTON ELECTRIC UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP

Mick Keleher is the new owner of Slayton Electric as of July 1. Keleher had originally planned to transition into ownership of the business about six months ago, but the process was delayed because he was involved in a horrific auto accident.
