The regular meeting of the Murray County Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, October 03, 2023 with a short agenda that was completed in thirty minutes. Acceptance of Third quarter donations was slated for this minutes.

By Jenny Kirk A year ago, Trevor Holm could never have predicted that he and his wife, Maddie, would consider leaving their dream home and become business owners, but as of Oct. 1, the couple are the new owners of the local Pizza Ranch.

Skills to Succeed will allow 4-hers to learn about themselves, the community they live in and how to find their inner spark to strive regardless of the challenges ahead. Each session will include a healthy snack, games, and a project to dive into learning. As always, reflection at the end where the 4-hers will share with others. After school Adventures will meet in the lunchroom of Fulda elementary school from 3:00 - 5:00 on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. (Except October when youth will be meeting during National 4-H Week.)

West kids can ride bus 8 to Central and walk with a volunteer to the 4-H building, Central kids will be meet by the buses and walked over to the 4-H building.

The final items are being finished today (9/20) on the new gym floor! The cove base around the entire gym is being installed and the volleyball floor sleeves are being cut and set. The final finish coat was applied yesterday and now it needs 7 full days to cure before anyone can be on it. On the 27th-29th, a deep clean of the rafters, bleachers, walls, etc. will take place. It will be available for our use starting on Oct. 2. We will have our first event on Oct. 5th (Volleyball vs. Lakeview).

Pipestone County’s next hybrid EMR certification class begins Thursday, Oct. 19. The class includes one live class night per week that can be done in person at 811 5th St. SE in Pipestone or via Zoom and three total in-person sessions during the 10-week program.
