Little Purple Flowers The bunch of purple flowers appeared out of nowhere—or so it seemed. The warmth of summer was waning and the dust kicking up from the gravel road was a reminder of last week’s hot temps.

Southwest Initiative Foundation (SWIF) has launched a new grant program, Fostering Social Connection in Later Life with funds from the Paul and Alma Schwan Aging Trust Endowment Fund. This program will provide funding to southwest Minnesota-serving organizations working to reduce and prevent social isolation and loneliness among older adults in the region.

Hell is a place of eternal torment prepared by God for the devil and his fallen angels. God desires that no human should ever perish in hell, but He desires that they repent from their life of sin, (that includes all of us; for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God).

The Murray County Central Rebels were back in volleyball action against the Southwest Minnesota Christian Eagles last Thursday evening. The anticipation of playing good conference competition was only overshadowed by a milestone set by setter Kate Slettum as she dished out her 1000th set assist of her high school volleyball career.

The MCC Rebels were on the road this past Friday night taking on the Saint James Saints in a game that, with a win, would get them above the .500 mark on the season. St James was looking for their second win of the year but they have played teams tough and have a tough running game.

There’s a chill in the air, the leaves are falling, and FOOTBALL IS IN FULL SWING! It has been an exciting season for the 5th and 6th Grade Tackle Football Program this Fall. A tough 35 players are suiting up in full pads and helmets for practice twice a week to work on their offense and defense and prepare for their next opponent. Over the past few weeks, MCC has hosted Tracy-Milroy-Balaton and Canby and has traveled to play Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, Wabasso and Dawson-Boyd. The teams will then travel to Minneota on October 7th and host Pipestone on October 14th.
