REBEL GIRLS BASKETBALL SEASON COMES TO AN END

GBB VS HLOF The Sub-Section 3A South tournament began this past week with the MCC Rebels playing in two games before their season came to an end on Saturday afternoon in Worthington. The Rebels got to have one more home game on Thursday night as the 7thseeded team in the sub-section, The Heron Lake Okabena Fulda Coyotes came to Slayton as the 10th seed.

Every year the most anticipated event on the calendar is the section tournament where the varsity wrestlers have been working hard, and adjusting their weight looking at state rankings. Meanwhile the coaches are doing the same thing trying to get their team and individuals the best chance at making the state tournament.

BOYS LOSE LAST REGULAR SEASON GAME

It was Senior night for the Rebels as MCC was able to honor Ben Ahlers, Bryce Hoekman, Carter Lewis, Aidan Dierks, Ross Engelkes, Owen Gillette, Michael Risacher, and Thomas Huso for their time and efforts to the Boys Basketball Program. There was a great crowd on hand and the game was exciting and full of energy.

REBELS CELEBRATE

The Rebel boys team looked to earn the season sweep over the Red Rock Falcons Friday night and to erase the bad feeling from their game earlier in the week against RTR. MCC would do just that against the 11-13 Falcons as they would lead wire to wire to earn their 14th win of the season, securing a winning record with one game remaining.

GREEN THUMB

This past week we had big weather changes. One day it was 70 degrees - almost shirt sleeve weather - and the next day temp in the teens with snow flurries. This reminds us of a contest in earlier years (in the 1940s I think) where the winner got a new (for then) car for submitting the winning slogan - Minnesota, Theater of Seasons.

GOOD NEWS

The apostle John wrote to the Church and said, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 2). God reveals three things to us in this verse. One: He wants all of His children to succeed in life. Two: He desires that we be healthy. Three: He wants His children to constantly study His Word so that we learn to live by His Word. In Romans 12:2 it is referred to as ‘the renewing of our minds. If we do this, we will not think and act as the worldly person does, but we will rather think and act like Christ - as we strive to live by faith, as Jesus did.

THEOLOGY IN THE TRENCHES

One-on-One in Prayer Recently, I’ve been thinking about the grueling task of prayer. That may sound harsh, but let me explain.
