Murray County Commissioners

PLANNING CONTINUES ON CSAH 13

The Murray County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on August 22, 2023. Auditor Treasurer Heidi Winter presented the bills for recently completed ditch repairs. One of those was for petitioned repairs on County Ditch 68 at a cost of $38,394.35. Those costs will be borne by landowners benefiting from the drainage ditch. Ditch Inspector Travis Radke presented the signed forms that will allow landowner Rick Miller to install a private crossing on CD 41 to allow him access to his farm land.

Economic Development Coordinator Justine Wet-proval.

The contract was awarded to Fluit Farms Excavating & Scrap for the removal of buildings and the leveling of property at 2838 Linden Avenue at the low quote of $8,500.

An agreement was approved with Houston Engineering for the final design plans for improvements to CSAH (Valhalla Road). The plans call for multi-use paths along both sides of the roadway and raising the road to lessen flood concerns. Residents of the area were on hand for the discussion asking for the inclusion of fiber optic lines or options for further development of lines into the island. Lighting along the paths was another request of the group. The design plans will be completed for a 2024 bid date with construction planned for 2025. There are $4.2M dollars of grant funds available to the project.
