So many people today have such agitated minds. They are fearful, doubtful, they cannot sleep, worry overwhelms them; pills, pills, and more pills, and still, they have no peace. A British psychiatrist who had devoted his entire adult life to the suffering of the mind, said to the British Medical Association many years ago, “I would state that of all the hygienic measures to counteract disturbed sleep, depression of the spirits, and all the miserable sequels of a disturbed mind, I would undoubtedly give first place to the simple habit of prayer.” Scripture tells us, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever.” (Isaiah 26:3-4). Jesus tells those who follow Him in John 14:27 that His peace is available to all of us whenever we need it.
