If an ordinary piece of steel is attached to a magnet, the steel will eventually become magnetized. This is a great example of what it’s like to become more like Jesus. After all, we are to be ‘one with Him.’ (John 17:20- 21). Ephesians chapter 4: tells us of God’s desire for his children to mature and become more and more like Jesus in our everyday lives -and allowing His life to be lived through us. The Lord gave the Church the five-fold ministry which is: Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. These gifts were given to the Church to properly equip Christians for the work of the ministry and to edify the body of Christ. As believers, we are to take our responsibility as Ambassadors of Christ seriously and to bring the message of reconciliation to a lost and dying world. See 2 Cor. 5:17-20. In Matthew 28: Jesus called it ‘The Great Commission.’ We are also commanded in Ephesians 5:18 to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit empowers us to be successful witnesses for Jesus.

When Jesus was here in the flesh, He showed us how our Heavenly Father desires His children to live – FREE! Free to be the people He has called us to be. To live righteously, and bringing glory to God by letting our light shine brigh. t(lyMt. 5:16). We are to live by faith and have complete trust in the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us, to instruct us, comfort us, and empower us. Sin is not to have dominion over us but rather, we are to consider ourselves as being dead to sin. (See Rom. 6:11, 14).

Have we been obedient to do what God has told us to do? I hope we are all striving to do so. God bless.
