BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FALLS TO EDGERTON AT HOME

The MCC Rebel Boys Basketball team was at home for their first game after the holiday break on Tuesday. The Rebels played host to the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen with both teams 6-2 on the season and playing well. Edgerton beat Pipestone on Monday night and were looking for back to back wins in 2026. Much like the game on Monday in the MCC Gymnasium, this game came down to the end between two teams struggling to shoot the basketball.

GIRLS WIN FIRST HOME GAME AFTER HOLIDAYS AGAINST TMB

The MCC Rebel Girls Basketball team was back in action on Jan. 2nd after the long holiday break. The Rebels last game came back on December 19th with a win over Southwest Minnesota Christian. The Rebels were looking for their 6th win of the year in a Friday afternoon game against the Tracy Milroy Balaton Panthers. The Panthers were looking for their 4th win of the season but that would have to wait, as the Rebels defense and opportunistic offense led the way to a win.

REBELS FOOTBALL WINS AT HOME

The MCC Rebel Football team played their first home game of the season on Friday night. After starting the season with two road games the Rebels were at home for the first time. The Rebels opened the season with back to back losses to a pair of good teams. Sleepy Eye United was 1-1 entering the game with a win over BOLD and a loss to RTR. The Rebels clearly liked playing at home as they would put together their best all around showing of the season against Sleepy Eye United.

WARRIOR WRESTLERS COMPETED AT STATE MEET

The Minnesota State Wrestling tournament held at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul is truly an experience for the wrestling spectator, and the wrestlers themselves.

BUZZER-BEATER SHOT ADVANCES REBELS IN PLAYOFFS

In a rematch of a seven point win for TMB in the regular season, the Sub-Section 3A South first round game did not disappoint as the #4 seeded Panthers took on the #5 seeded Murray County Central Rebels in an instant classic. The nerves were notable for the Rebels to start the game as indecision turned into fundamentally unsound play and odd turnovers, which led to TMB getting the first bucket of the game.

F/MCC WRESTLERS HAVE BUSY WEEK OF COMPETITION

The FMCC Warriors had a very busy week with a Quad in Ortonville, a Tri in Luverne, and a 13 team tournament in Lamberton. In Ortonville, the Warriors took on the Border West Buccaneers, Sisseton, and Ortonville. In Luverne they had the TMB Panthers, and the Luverne Cardinals.

WRESTLERS FACE NEW COMPETITION IN OWATONNA

The Fulda/Murray County Central Warriors traveled to Owatonna in lieu of the Tri-Valley Wrestling tournament which got canceled due to weather. Owatonna is a different direction for the Warriors, and they got to see some new competition.

REBELS FALL TO MLAC AT HOME

The MCC Rebels were back at home on Friday for their third game of the week. The Rebels had split their first two games, losing to Lakeview and then beating RRC. The Rebels defense has been strong this season but the ups and downs on offense have cost them several games this season. Friday would fall into that category for MCC as the Wolverines would avenge a loss to the Rebels from earlier this year.
