Your group, organization, or business is invited to participate in the Murray County Museum’s 2021 Holiday Open House at the Dinehart Holt House! This year the theme is A “Beary” Merry Christmas in honor of returning the carved bears back to the Dinehart House staircase! We encourage you to decorate a tree, area of the home, or even a whole room. Use your imagination to come up with something fun with a bear related theme! The trees will be provided by the Murray County Museum.

Well, October has arrived. The days are getting shorter, the weather is cooling down and our gardens are also producing.

Monday, October 4: Orange Chicken, Brown Rice, Oriental Vegetables, Mandarin Oranges, Lowfat Milk. Tuesday, October 5: Beef Goulash, Peas, Tropical Fruit, Garlic Breadstick, Lowfat Milk.

Throughout the pandemic, suicide attempts have been on the rise and have become an increasingly major health concern. As suicide claims thousands of lives each year, it is increasingly important that everyone recognizes the warning signs of suicide. Catching differences in behavior, mood and language, could be the difference between life or death for someone.

4-H ADVENTURES: 4-H Adventures is back in person this year. We will be meeting at the Murray County 4-H Building.

Tom and Kristi Spartz, Iona, are proud to announce the birth of their baby boy, Camdyn Rodney Spartz. Camdyn was born at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center on August 23rd at 3:35 am, weighing 6 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long. Camdyn is welcomed home by big brothers, Hudson and Jayden. Grandparents are Jim and Sandy Schettler, Wilmont, and Rodney and Alice Spartz, Iona.

On September 15, 2021 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Murray County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a call from an alarm company reporting a fire at Page 1 Printers Engebretson Avenue in Slayton. A fire in the warehouse area of the plant was confirmed by a person on scene. The Slayton Fire Department was immediately dispatched and officers from the Slayton Police Department, along with the Murray County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

Winds whipped through the area on Thursday night, early Friday Morning. Taking trees down across the area.
