I come by it sorta naturally. Ignorance that is. They say, ignorance is bliss, but I suppose that only goes so far. When the rubber-meets-the-road, so-tospeak, oft times one needs a bit more grip for traction to make it through this side of the veil. After all, excuses only go so far when one tries to explain why they do what they do. Let me share a case in point.

Fortunately, there are many ways to keep our immune systems up during the winter: 1.Stay Hydrated: without proper hydration, you may feel aches and pains in your joints and muscles, have digestion issues, body temperature changes, and more.

WEST ELEMENTARY SAYS GOODBYE TO DELLA HAUPERT

“I like organization and to keep things in order.” Those are the words of one of Murray County Central’s administrative assistants, Della Haupert who has kept things “in order” for the Chandler-Lake Wilson, Central and West Elementary schools for thirty years. Della recently retired from this full-time position, and she will be missed by staff and school families alike.

An event was held at Gullord Park on December 17 to celebrate $8,000 being raised to allow the City of Slayton to add two pieces of accessible play equipment to the playground. A Roxall Teeter Totter and an accessible swing have been ordered and will be installed in the spring. Murray County Medical Center in Slayton has been recognized as a top performing hospital in Quality and Patient Perspective by The Chartis Center of Rural Health and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) through their Performance Leadership Award assessments.

MCC SCHOOL BOARD HOLDS DECEMBER MEETING

The Murray County School Board met on Dec. 13, 2021. The Agenda was approved. No one from the public was present for the Truth in Taxation Payable 2022 Hearing. The Budget has been published in the editorial group. Property taxes went down .16%. If yours looks different, it is from some other reason, such as, your property value has risen.

USDA OPENS 2022 SIGNUP FOR DAIRY MARGIN COVERAGE, EXPANDS PROGRAM FOR SUPPLEMENTAL PRODUCTION

As part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s ongoing efforts to support dairy farmers and rural communities, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) opened signup for the Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) program and expanded the program to allow dairy producers to better protect their operations by enrolling supplemental production. This signup period – which runs from Dec. 13, 2021 to Feb. 18, 2022 – enables producers to get coverage through this important safety-net program for another year as well as get additional assistance through the new Supplemental DMC.
