The Murray County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on April 19. All members of the board were physically present for the meeting.

Project Bowl is a long-standing program in Minnesota 4-H and is the second most attended event of the year. In Project Bowl, teams of 3-6 youth build skills working and thinking together while testing their knowledge in these 4-H areas: dairy, dog, general livestock, horse, llama/alpaca, poultry, and rabbit.

The Chippewa/Murray senior horse quiz bowl team placed first at the State Horse Bowl contest on April 9 in Sauk Rapids. Starting from the right team members include Kylee Brands (Murray County) , Caleb Johnson and Kaisa Jaenisch (Chippewa County).

Gas Station Conversation After pulling into the gas station, I was made my way down the treat isle. I noticed three teens.

An English man was settling the estate of his father who had recently passed away. This was in the late 1800s. He noticed that his father had given generously to George Mueller’s Orphanage Ministry for many years. The son handling the estate was not a Christian but had decided to go and check out the ministry of George Mueller to see why his father had given so much support to it. Thousands of children were being given food, shelter, clothing, and a great deal of love, and they were thoroughly trained in the Word of God. George Mueller had passed on a few years earlier, but the work he had started in 1836 was in operation until the 1950s. They ministered to over 100,000 children. The son was overwhelmed at his experience at the orphanage and surrendered his life to Christ. So excited about his conversion, he went to the Director of the Orphanage and told him that he received God’s free gift of salvation. “I’m not surprised” said the Director, “Mr. Mueller has been praying for you to come to Christ for nearly fifty years.” Friends, never underestimate the power of prayer. “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers.” (Psalm 34:15). While we may know nothing about the ultimate source of our existence—and indeed humility would dictate that we should not be too opinionated about this—a modicum of thought leads us to believe that there is something greater than us at work in the universe.
