Lutheran Social Service Meals and Meals on Wheels program has been awarded a community impact grant from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) for $16,500. These funds will help cover the cost of meals for lowincome seniors who cannot afford to contribute financially. This work aligns with UWSWMN’s health priority area.

The Chandler American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday afternoon, September 19, with President Patsy Buys presiding. Chaplain Jeri Sankey opened the meeting with devotions and prayer.

It’s the Process I was reading Oswald Chambers the other day. As I hadn’t picked up his book “My Utmost for His Highest” for many a month, I thought it might be fun to read.

The days continue to get shorter and the weather cooler. The forecasts have included warnings for frost and snow but we haven’t seen either - yet.

Rebel volleyball was back in action, traveling to Westbrook in conference action against the Chargers. The MCC C-squad started the evening with a win over the host, 25-16, 25-23 and 13-11 before time ran out in the 3rd set. Next up for MCC was the B-squad giving their best, but falling in three sets, 20-25, 15-25 and 6-15.

October 5th, MCC volleyball’s final home match and the team’s Dig Pink night for breast cancer awareness, brought a non conference contest with the Lakeview Lakers. The Rebels secured a much needed win in five sets against a well matched team in the Lakers.
