The Rebels have faced three strong teams to start the season with a combined winning percentage of 86 percent. Mountain Lake Area Comfrey was next on the schedule with a 3-0 record which bumps the winning percentage to 90. This would be the Rebels first home game as well as their first Red Rock Conference game and what a memorable one it would be.

The Rebels coming off the Sleepy Eye Tip-Off Classic had another tough opponent on Monday, the Pipestone Arrows. The Arrows would bring an athletic, uptempo gameplan against the Rebels that would test the Rebels defensively.

The MCC Rebel Girls participated in the Wabasso Holiday Tournament this past weekend. The Rebels would open the tournament Friday at 4:00 pm against a team they have never played before. The Rebels took on the Thunderbirds of Gibbon Fairfax Winthrop. The Thunderbirds were coming off a win in their last game and were looking to build a winning streak, while the Rebels were trying to bounce back from their loss to Edgerton on Tuesday night. Three minutes and 15 feet would go a long way in deciding this game.

The MCC Rebels played their third game in four days on Monday night when they traveled to Pipestone to take on the Arrows. The Rebels were trying to end a three-game losing streak after winning their first two games. The Arrows were looking for their first win of the season after three straight losses to open the year. The Rebels would come out firing but the Rebels were unable to finish.

Police Chief Jeremy Steinle explained to the council that the police department’s 5-year contract for the lease of tasers is up this year and that he recommended the purchase of five new tasers instead of utilizing Axon Enterprise’s lease program this time around.
