Shannon & Narla

Shetek Dental in Slayton, MN opened 20 years ago and recently recognized two employees for their dedication for the last 20 years. Shannon Rhodes and Narla Hulstein. When asked what, over the past 20 years has brought them the most joy in their jobs, Narla comments that seeing the practice grow and expand while being able to offer the community the newest technologies brings her joy. Shannon stated, “The relationships with my patients that have been built over the years has brought me the most joy while working at Shetek Dental Care, along with always being blessed to work with dentists (Dr Cannon and Dr Plotz) that provide high quality comprehensive dental care.” The biggest change they both acknowledged was the growth over the years. Merging dental practices and expanding the number of rooms they offer along with adding more staff. Shannon stated her advice to others new in the industry would be to have an attitude of “teamwork” and to look for opportunities to help each other out. Narla’s advice is to keep a mindset of continually improving your skills and education throughout your dental career (she’s been in dentistry for 42 years). She also stated that, “you have more job satisfaction if you look for ways each and every day that you can make a difference in someone’s day.”
