MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO ANNOUNCES 2023 FALL DEAN’S LIST The Academic High Honor and Honor lists (Dean’s lists) for the past fall semester at Minnesota State University, Mankato have been announced by Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs David Hood. Kahlen Larsen, Honor List, Avoca, MN Brianna Schmitz, High Honor List, Currie, MN Celeste Aamodt, High Honor List, Slayton, MN Brooke Engbarth, High Honor List, Slayton, MN Mackenzie Hoffman, Honor List, Slayton, MN Tracy Leysen, High Honor, Slayton, MN Among 3,995 students, a total of 1,227 students qualified for the High Honor List by achieving a 4.0 straight “A” average, while 2,768 students earned a 3.5 to 3.99 average to qualify for the Honor List..

Community Blood Bank and Murray County Medical Center will host a community blood drive event on Wednesday, February 21 between 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The public will have an opportunity to donate blood to help local patients in the hospital as we finish off the winter season. Donors can schedule an appointment by logging onto www.cbblifeblood.org, select “events” and choosing February 21 “Murray County Medical Center” or call 507-836-1286. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. As a special thank you gift, those donating blood will receive a $10 Subway gift card.

The MCC Rebels finished their non-conference schedule on Thursday night (February 8) when they played host to the Windom Area Eagles. The Eagles have had a strong season, winning 18 games, playing in the Big South Conference.

The Rebel Girls week came to an end on Friday night (Februar 9) in Westbrook. MCC finished the season with four straight road games and 3 of the 4 games are against the top teams in the Red Rock Conference. The first of those games came against the Chargers who have one of the most experienced teams in the area and one of the best shooting teams when things are right. The Chargers were right on Friday.

The MCC Rebel Girls opened their toughest week of the season on Monday night. The Rebels play two games on the road in Edgerton this week. The Rebels took on SWC Monday night (February 12) and on Thursday (February 15) they will play at Edgerton Public. The Rebels have just three games left in the regular season looking for their ninth win of the year. That win wouldn’t come on Monday against the top team in the Red Rock Conference.
