Southwest Minnesota Volleyball (SWMNVB) based out of Marshall, MN sent 3 teams to Orlando Florida for the AAU Volleyball National Tournament.
The SWMNVB 15-1 team placed 1st (National Champions) in the AAU Girls Junior National Volleyball Championship in the 15 Select Division. They went into the tournament ranked last out of 90 teams and beat the top seeded team day 1. In the final match and 3rd set the team overcame a 10-6 deficit to beat the Kansas City 913 Athletics Club 16-14.
SWMNVB teams are made up of girls from the surrounding area. This team includes girls from Marshall, Minneota, Canby, MCC, Tracy, Montevideo, & YME. The team is coached by Erica Schmitt & McKenzie Tolk.
Murray County Central student Reese Gilbertson (#3) plays as a right-side hitter/blocker and defensive specialist.
