Murray County Farmers Union is hosting a Soil Health Lunch and Learn from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Murray County 4-H Building, 3048 Broadway Ave. Slayton. The event is free and open to the public.
The Soil Health event, which begins with registration at 9:30 a.m., includes presentations and demonstrations from the Murray County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Murray County USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Sustainable Farming Association. There will also be discussions where farmers share their soil health experiences.
“Join the Murray County Farmers Union on Feb. 17 for a day of hands-on learning, focused on building healthier soils,” said Rich Vanderziel, Murray County Farmers Union President. “You’ll hear from experts on the six principles of soil health, see demonstrations on the signs of changing soil health, and engage with other farmers in discussions about what is happening with their soil. Lunch is provided with free registration at the door, and resource tables will be open throughout the event for practical tools and one-on-one consultations.”
Lunch is provided thanks to the generous support of sponsors.
