The Murray County Central Softball team held their 2025 Softball Banquet this past week. The Rebels were the champions of the Red Rock Conference this season. The Rebels had 5 All Red Rock Conference members and 2 honorable mentions. The All conference members included seniors Thea Schneider, Emmi Peltola, Elyse Paulzine, along with juniors Kate Blankenship and Ava Deacon. The honorable mentions included junior Calliegh Doeden and Kat Miller. The Cy Young award winner was Thea Schneider. The Rebels steals, and batting champion went to Kate Blankenship. The Gold Glove award winner was Blankenship. The Rudy Award winner went to Takeyah Flowers. Kate Blankenship was named All State Second Team.
Thea Schneider represented MCC and Southwest Minnesota in the annual Senior All Star Games. Schneider was one of the pitchers selected after a terrific senior season. Schneider won 14 games this season with 6 losses. She threw 131 innings while striking out 157 batters while walking just 36. Schneider finished the season with a 2.49 era.
