The Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce announced this week that it will be closing its physical office location as of December 31, 2025. While the office space will close, Chamber leaders emphasize that the organization remains active, strong, and fully committed to serving local businesses and the Slayton community.

Chamber President Sheila Crowley said the decision comes after thoughtful discussion by the Chamber’s volunteer board.

“As a volunteer-driven organization, we want to put our time, energy, and resources directly into the community—supporting our businesses, strengthening local events, and promoting Slayton as a great place to live, work, and shop,” Crowley said. “Closing the physical office allows us to operate more efficiently while continuing the work that matters most.”

The Chamber will maintain all of its current programming, including beloved community events such as the Prairie Days Parade, Pumpkinfest, and Light Up Gullord Park. The organization will also continue promoting member businesses through its Facebook page, website, digital announcements, and community partnerships.

“Our presence isn’t going away,” Crowley said. “In many ways, we’ll be more visible than ever. We’ll still be highlighting businesses, sharing updates, and supporting local initiatives just as we always have.”

For those interested in purchasing Chamber Bucks, which encourage shopping locally and support area businesses, please contact Sheila Crowley at 507-360-2680.

The Chamber welcomes and encourages new members to join. Businesses of all sizes, nonprofits, and community organizations are invited to become part of the Chamber. Membership helps strengthen local connections, supports community events, and contributes to the continued vitality of Slayton’s business environment.

Crowley expressed gratitude to the business community for their ongoing support. “The Chamber is strong because of the people who believe in Slayton,” she said. “We look forward to continuing our mission and working together to keep our community vibrant.”
