MCC 67 - Adrian/ Ellsworth 26

The Rebels traveled to Ellsworth for a Red Rock Conference matchup against the Adrian-Ellsworth Dragons Friday evening. AE came into the game with a 2-6 mark. With wins against George-Little Rock, IA and Mountain Lake Area Comfrey. The Rebels came into the game riding a three game winning streak and a 6-2 record overall.

Friday night’s basketball game saw MCC deliver a strong team performance, defeating Adrian/Ellsworth 67-26 in a one-sided contest. From the opening moments, the Rebels set the tone with relentless defensive pressure and unselfish ball movement. Their offense clicked early, with multiple players contributing to a balanced scoring attack. By halftime, MCC held a comfortable 34-13 lead, capitalizing on turnovers and executing on offense. The Dragons struggled to find their rhythm, often settling for contested shots against MCC’s defense.

Gavin Gillette had 8 first half points to lead the Rebels. He was followed by 7 other Rebels in the score column, spreading the ball around the floor. Dylan Kluis had 7, Tristan Behrends had 6, connecting on two, three’s. Cayden Veldhuisen had 5, Aidan Swenson had 4, and Hudson Schryvers and Wyatt Thompson chipped in 2 each, to round out the balanced attack.

The second half was more of the same, as MCC continued to impose their will on both ends of the floor. Eleven players contributed in the scoring column, showcasing their depth and ability to share the ball effectively. Every possession seemed to highlight a new contributor, whether it was an outside shooter knocking down a three or a big man finishing strong in the paint.

10 Rebels etched their name in the score column as Aidan Swenson led the way in the second half with 7, Andrew Holm and Dylan Kluis each scored 5, Gavin Gillette had 4, Hudson Schryvers, Carter Hanson, Jordan Sturges, Dawson Schreier, Max Miller, and Cayden Veldhuisen each chipped in a bucket.

As the game wore on, the Rebels demonstrated their commitment to playing as a cohesive unit. Their bench players maintained the same level of intensity, ensuring there was no drop-off in execution. MCC closed out the game, securing the 67-26 victory. It was a true team effort for the Rebels earning the Red Rock Conference road win.
