Pipestone County Medical Center and Family Clinic Avera (PCMC) is excited to welcome Melissa Scotting, CNP, back to its medical staff. Scotting provides acute care for patients at PCMC needing sameday appointments.
Scotting graduated from the Pipestone Area School System before obtaining her undergraduate degree in nursing from Mankato State University in Mankato, MN. She then worked as a registered nurse for 10 years before earning her Master’s Degree in Nursing from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.
Before coming to PCMC, Scotting worked in correctional health. She has also worked in family practice with Avera in Pipestone, MN, and in Marshall, MN. “I have always been interested in encouraging and teaching patients to take care of themselves,” Scotting said. “I definitely love helping my patients and getting to know them and their families. The relationships I build are some of the most special parts of being in this profession,” she added.
