NOBLES COOPERATIVE ELECTRICS OPERATION ROUND UP APPLICATION DEADLINE IS ALMOST HERE

A local school needs books for underprivileged students. A hospice requires new equipment, and a fire department is raising funds for pagers. These stories appear in the news and fill the pages of local newspapers. What do they all have in common? Thanks to Nobles Cooperative Electric’s Operation Round Up program, the answer is simple: help when it’s needed most.

Through Operation Round Up, Nobles Cooperative Electric members support their neighbors—one penny, nickel, dime, and quarter at a time. This voluntary program allows members to round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar, with nearly 60 percent choosing to participate. Collectively, they contribute over $2,000 each month, creating a meaningful impact in the communities they call home.

These donations are placed in a trust fund and distributed twice a year by the Nobles-Murray Rural Electric Trust Board. Since 2001, more than $600,663 has been awarded to local organizations, proving that small contributions can make a big difference.

Operation Round Up is designed to provide financial assistance to non-profit organizations in the surrounding communities of Murray, Nobles, and adjacent counties. Organizations that serve these communities can request funds for projects involving: Community Service, Economic Development, Education and Youth, and Environment Disaster Relief.

The trust board is currently accepting applications. The deadline for submitting applications is March 1. Call Nobles Cooperative Electric at 800776-0517; visit our website (www.nobles.coop) or email nce@nobles.coop to request an application.
