Cody and Mady Koster began their ownership of Victory Garage (formerly Witzel Pronto Auto Repair), located at 203 U.S. Highway 59, on January 1st. Cody has worked at the repair shop since he was 16 years of age.
By Norma Dittman Victory Garage is the name that has been chosen for the former Witzel Pronto Auto Repair in Fulda, MN. The business is now owned by Cody and Mady Koster who took possession on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
When asked how the name of Victory Garage was chosen, Cody explained, “Anyone who knows me knows that I love racing. I tied the name of the shop to my sport.” Cody races in the Outlaw Mini Mod series, and has raced since the age of sixteen.
Cody was just sixteen years of age when he began working at Witzel Pronto. “I started working for Jim and Ann in 2012. I grew up helping dad fix motors when he worked for Rupp Construction. I would go with him when I was able to and learned everything that I could,” Cody said.
Cody’s dad, Dan Koster, actually was the one who approached the Witzel’s about Cody working with them. “He told them that I was very interested in repairing vehicles, and they agreed to give me a try. I am very grateful that they did.”
Cody graduated from Fulda High School in 2015 and continued his job with Witzel Pronto. “There was a time when I thought I should be working at a dealership. I did that for about six months and asked Jim if I could work for him again. He immediately said yes. He and Ann are family to me,” Cody said.
Cody met Mady Johnson (a graduate of Westbrook-Walnut Grove Schools), and the couple married in September of 2022. They have a two-year old son, Conley. Mady is employed with Leading Edge Credit Union as the Branch Manager at the Fulda location.
“When Jim approached us about purchasing the business, he told me that I could either own it, or it would be sold and I’d be working for someone else,” Cody stated, grinning. “It made sense to Mady and I to purchase and keep doing repairs for the people of the Fulda area. This particular repair business has been serving the area since 1952, and I’m going to continue to service everybody the best that I can.”
Victory Garage has partnered with Auto Value for their parts. Cody and Mady state that they will continue to offer repair service, belts, lubricants, oils, and tire replacement or repair.
Mady will be doing the bookkeeping - as she said - “anything that Ann had been doing”. Employees are Sam Haberman and Eli Perry.
“Jim and Ann have been very supportive in this transaction,” Cody commented. “Making the transaction is difficult, but it is definitely something we can do.”
