MURRAY COUNTY STAKEHOLDERS REQUESTED TO PARTICIPATE IN MITIGATION EFFORTS

Murray County mitigation stakeholders - Your presence is requested at the second and final Planning Team Meeting for the update of the Murray County Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). You are requested to participate in this vital meeting because you have a position of administrative or departmental responsibility within either the county, a municipal government, or are a key stakeholder related to the planning process. Emergency Managers from neighboring jurisdictions are also encouraged to attend so we may strengthen our shared mitigation efforts. We will be holding the meeting virtually using Zoom webinar.

Participants should register at https://umn-private.zoom.us/ webinar/register/WN_Tp1Ar3gbT36Q1r_ txID1Tw#/registration or contact Emergency Management Director Carl Nyquist at 507-836-1111 or Carl. Nyquist@murraycountymn. gov.

The meeting will take place via zoom from 9 - 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 14.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide an overview of the plan and interactive website, including a review of the updated risk assessment for natural hazards that affect the county. We will also discuss the Mitigation Action Charts that will be specific to Murray County and each city, as well as funding opportunities available under the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant programs.

Your participation in this meeting and feedback on the draft plan is important to us. The draft Murray County HMP is nearing completion and will be ready for review by planning team members and the public in the coming weeks.

When you register, you will automatically be placed on an RSVP list. If you are not able to attend, please consider sending another representative in your stead.
