The Murray County 4-H program has had a busy start to the 2025 – 2026 school year in the Fulda & MCC districts along with different home school groups.
Murray County 4-H After School Adventures consists of seven sessions, one in each month starting in October 2025 through April 2026 in the Fulda and MCC School District.
Open to youth in grades K–6, each session consists of handson learning, a healthy snack, and a time for reflection at the end to discuss what the youth have learned or taken away from their time together.
We have 14 youth attending our Fulda programs and thirty-two for our MCC location. So far, we have held two sessions; the October theme was “Can you Walk the Talk?” Where youth learned about how different influences can impact mental and physical health and what makes each youth successful.
The November theme was “Hearty Fall Foods.” The youth were able to experience different pancake recipes from different countries throughout the world. From learning about the cultures to trying the food, this was a unique experience that was unforgettable and made sure no one went home hungry.
There is a Slayton area home-school group that we meet with twice a month to specifically learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) topics/ activities. This is a great new addition to our Murray County 4-H Family.
If you think either of these programs would benefit a youth you know – there is still time to sign-up! Each session for our After School Adventures program costs $5/ youth.
