Relay For Life is a time to reflect on my own journey with others who truly understand. Message for others currently fighting cancer. Just keep going. There will be dark days but keep putting on foot in front of the other, even when you don’t think you can.
Tom Pryor: What is your favorite Relay memory or moment? I love helping set up for the Relay event it brings many memories for me. What do you love most about your community? It is a caring community. We see this often when someone is down and out. The community arrives and cares. What a blessing. Message for others currently fighting cancer. Let go and let God.
Sarah Dahlgren daughter of Larry Byers: How has your cancer journey changed your perspective on life? My dad and mom took several trips that they had wanted to do, including a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. They dedicated time to their family as well. What does Relay mean to you? Coming together for a common goal. Message for others currently fighting cancer or their supporters. Keep showing up and fighting. They gave my dad less than a year to live and he lived for 10 years. Favorite Relay moment: My dad really enjoyed his year as Honorary Survivor. That year the relay honored 3 couples. The men were the survivors, and their wives were honored as caregivers. My dad’s favorite memory was driving in the Fulda Wood Duck parade with Brian Breberg. Dad drove his 1966 Chevy Impala Convertible; Brian was in the passenger seat and Brians girls rode int eh backseat throwing candy Relay is August 9th at the Murray County Fairgrounds. As the committee, we look forward to sharing many of the great memories we have had with our 30 years as a Relay For Life of Murray County participant. We have had some great honorary survivors thru the years. Sharing about their cancer journey is what inspires the committee to keep going. See you at the Relay on August 9th.
