The Rebels varsity and junior varsity teams traveled to the Jackson Golf Club to take on the Huskies. The meet was a tight competition, but a few Rebel golfers were able to rise to the top of the leaderboard despite the inclement weather conditions. Four of MCC’s players were also able to card a birdie during their round.
MCC’s girls defeated JCC with a score of 203 to 242. The individual medalist honors went to Rachael Huso who shot a 46 on the day. Huso birdied hole one and carded a par on three more holes throughout the round. Seventh grader, Lily Brinkman, from JCC took 2nd place with a 50. 3rd place was a three-way between Rachel Mohr (JCC), Ava Johnson and Lizzie Daniels. The girls will need to continue working on consistency throughout their round and cutting down the amount of putts on the greens. On the boys side, Jett Veldhuisen was the low scorer for MCC with a 46. Veldhuisen finished the meet in 3rd place and stated he needs to continue working on his tee shots. Kaden Landsman came in next for the Rebels with a 49 and finished tied in 5th place. MCC’s boys fell to the Huskies 187 to 206. Most of the boys agreed that their chipping and putting is definitely an area of improvement going forward. If the Rebels continue with their improvements, they will surely find success in their 18-hole conference meets.
