GIRLS INVITATIONAL
The girls team battled chilly conditions this past Friday at the Worthington Girls Invitational. MCC faced off against golfers from Worthington, Fairmont, Jackson County Central, Lac qui Parle Valley, Luverne, Pipestone, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, Lakeview and Minneota. The Rebel girls performed extremely well at their first 18-hole meet of the season. MCC’s golfers were able to identify areas of improvement, but also found strengths and confidence in their game.
The Rebels came in first place as a team with a score of 416. This is a huge 100+ stroke improvement from their team score in 2024. Ava Johnson, a senior leader for MCC, walked away with the 1st place individual medal again after carding a 86. Johnson improved her score by 11 strokes from last year, with one birdie and four pars. Rachael Huso finished in fifth place individually with a 98. Huso felt like there were many areas to improve her game before heading into conference play. MCC’s strong performance in the meet has given them some confidence heading into the challenging season that is to come. Girls Individual Medalists: 1. Ava Johnson (MCC) - 86 2.
