The Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce is calling on businesses, organizations, and individuals to help make the 5th annual Light Up Gullord Park a magical holiday experience! This event depends on the creativity and generosity of our community to bring the park to life with festive displays.
Participants are encouraged to create lights and holiday displays in designated areas throughout Gullord Park. Power towers will be set up around the park, making it easy to plug in your decorations and showcase your ideas. Decorating can begin Wednesday, November 6th, with all displays to be completed by Tuesday, November 19th.
“We need your help to fill the park with lights, color, and holiday cheer,” said Sheila Crowley, Chamber President. “Your creativity is what makes this event shine!”
The festivities kick off on Sunday, November 23rd, with the Lighting Celebration starting at 3:30 p.m. Families can enjoy horse-drawn rides, crafts, games, and a visit from Santa, leading up to the grand countdown to light up the park at 5:30 p.m. This is a FREE community event, and everyone is welcome to participate—whether by decorating a display or simply enjoying the lights and fun.
